While I was driving to work on Wednesday I heard a noise that sounded like I had my back window open. I Looked at all the windows to check if any were open, they werent, so I pressing the button to close them just in case. The noise was still there so I was checking my mirror when suddenly the noise increased for a second then was gone. On the road seen through my mirror I could see chunks of rust from the side skirt of my car sliding on the ground and cars swirving and screaching to avoid them. Oops! So to ensure that I didn’t danger any more drivers when I parked at work I pulled off the rest of the dangling rust. There was quite a pile there! I am not the typical gear head or anything but I do, as most men, have a sense of pride about my cars. Well not that day. As I was walking the rest of the way to work a verse came to mind:
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal;
-Matthew 6:19-20 NASB
The cool thing about this experience is that I have a fresh perspective of stuff, that although usefull for a time its all just piles of rust.
